Migraine Treatment

Some patients experience migraine headaches due to clenching and grinding there teeth. Patients are often not aware of the link between grinding and migraines. When a person clenches or grinds there teeth it causes hyperactivity of the muscles which close the jaw. The temporalis muscle which is located right above your ear is the main culprit.

The NTI device is custom fit to either your upper or lower teeth to prevent the teeth from contacting in the back. When the teeth do not contact the muscles cannot contract. When an NTI is in place the muscles that close the jaw will contract 87% less which can decrease migraines.

In 2001 the NTI was approved by the FDA as an effective device to prevent migraine headaches. It was so effective for migraine sufferers that 82% had a 77% decrease in the number of migraine events.
